Best time to visit: If you are looking to travel to Vienna, then plan your trip between the months of April to May or September to October. April to May is the spring season when the city is crowded with tourists. However, if you are looking for some great deals, then September to October is the best time to plan your visit.

Visa and Immigration: If you’re an Indian passport holder travelling to Vienna, then you have to apply for Schengen visa online with the documents required. The Schengen is a short stay visa issued to visit the Schengen countries; the visa is issued to tourists that are planning to visit their friends, family or other travelling on non-business trips for up to 90 days from the date of entry. Your visit can be either continuous or several, depending upon the visa type; single entry or multiple entry. Another essential point to note while applying for the visa is that your passport should be valid for 6 months from your date of travel.

How to reach:

By Air: The Vienna International Airport is the city’s official international airport. Situated at a distance of 18 km from the southeastern part of central Vienna, the airport can be reached within 35 minutes depending on the mode of commutation.

By Tram: Hopping on the red-and-white trams, the most frequent and convenient mode of transportation in Vienna, is the best way to explore the city. The tram covers almost all the major long-distance routes and hence is the best mode of commutation for outlying areas.

By Bus: Buses in Vienna operate in all directions of the city. It operates daily during day as well as night hours.

By Taxi: Taxis are easily available within the city center to the best spots, but fares may add up. Negotiating on the fare in advance to the nearby cities is important before boarding, also tipping here is a standard.

Getting around: The city’s convenient mode of commutation makes it easy for all to move around in Vienna. Hop on the various modes of transportation, such as trams, buses, and taxis, etc., to explore the city better or take a bicycle tour to explore the city is also a great idea.
