New security measures at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA)
In light of the recent events, Please note the new security measures taken at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA)
All vehicles entering the airport will be checked in front of the Cargo terminal.
All passenger vehicles will be stopped at the outer lane and passengers need to walk up to the entrance.
No vehicles will be allowed near terminal.
Air force will do a positive manual check of all bags of all departing passengers at the check point before the entrance.
No visitors will be allowed inside the terminal.
Terminal car park and the coach park are closed.
There will be priority arranged for the crew and other airline staff. Please contact the emergency control center on 011 4866207 to avail this service.
Passengers are advised to report 4 hours early for check-in due to the above mentioned arrangements .

Citizens of Nepal and Maldives are eligible for tax exemption/reduction, as per applicable laws, on the airfare. In order to avail such tax exemption/reduction, passengers must declare their correct nationality at the time of booking. In case citizens of Nepal or Maldives intend to travel with any foreign nationals, such citizen (passenger) are requested to kindly book tickets for accompanying foreign national (passengers) in a separate PNR/ticket. Once selected, the nationality cannot be changed at any point during the booking process.
