Domestic TravInsure – Specially designed for IndiGo passengers

1. What is Domestic TravInsure – Specially designed for IndiGo Passengers? 
Domestic TravInsure – Specially designed for IndiGo Passengers, is an insurance program that TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd offers to domestic passengers booking their domestic travel on IndiGo.

1.  How do I purchase Domestic TravlInsure?
You can only purchase Domestic TravInsure, while you are booking your flight/s on internet through www.goindigo.in  The same is available on the purchase path of IndiGo.

 

2.  Who can purchase Domestic TravInsure?   
Any Indian domestic passenger traveling within India can purchase Domestic TravInsure, while booking their flights on www.goindigo.in.

Foreigner passengers holding passports of any other country other than India can purchase Domestic TravInsure if they have a work permit in India and are traveling within India.

 

3.  Is there an age limit to be covered under Domestic TravInsure? 
Yes, the passenger must be at least 2 years on the date of travel. The Maximum age is 70 years of age as on date of travel.

 

4.  Can I purchase Domestic TravInsure if I'm traveling for more than 30 days?  
No, Domestic TravInsure covers the passenger/s for a period of 30 days from the date of inception of policy which is the date commencement of journey after booking their tickets on IndiGo. In case of a round trip purchased on IndiGo the coverage will end with the return journey to the originating station or 30 days from the date of commencement of policy whichever is earlier.

  • Example 1 - If you are traveling one-way only, then the policy is valid till 30 days from the date of travel. Example - Suppose you are traveling Delhi – Mumbai on 1st Jan 2009, then you are covered till 30th Jan 2009, unless you are returning to Delhi earlier than 30th Jan 2009. If you are coming back to origin, either by a return flight or connecting flight(s) with IndiGo or any other traveling media, then the travel policy expires on the date on which you reach originating city.
  • Example 2 – If you are traveling from Delhi to Mumbai on 1st Jan 09 and returning back to Delhi on 15th Feb 09 your policy expires on 30th Jan 09 on completion of 30 days.

 

5.  Can I purchase India Business Travel Accident Policy if I'm traveling one way where my return travel is still not confirmed?  
Yes, you can buy the India Business Travel Accident Policy for a maximum period of 7 days if buying tickets from India Outbound one way.

 

6.  Am I still covered by Domestic TravInsure if I catch a connecting flight to a different destination
Coverage like trip cancellation, flight delay is only limited to flights booked through IndiGo. Other coverage is applicable during the validity period of the policy.

  • For example if you are traveling From Delhi to Chennai on 1st Jan 09 via Mumbai. You take Delhi to Mumbai flight on IndiGo and from Mumbai to Chennai you take another mode of transport other than a ticket booked on IndiGo, you would be entitled for benefit other than trip cancellation and flight delay which would only be restricted on flight booked through IndiGo. For other mode of transport you would be covered only for rest of the benefits.

 

7.  Who would be the beneficiary under this policy?     
Benefits will be paid to the Insured Person's bona fide legal heir in the event of loss of life under the Accident death and dismemberment Benefit. All other benefits will be payable to the Insured Person

Domestic TravInsure is non-cancelable.

 

3.  Is Domestic TravInsure refundable?   
Domestic TravInsure premium is non-refundable.

 

4.  Once I purchase the policy can I change the date of my travel?    
Domestic TravInsure cannot be changed once issued even if you are postponing or extending your trip.

 

5.   Do I have to carry a copy of my Certificate of Insurance with me when traveling?    
We encourage you to carry a copy of your Certificate of Insurance.

 

6.  What do I do if I did not receive or lost my Certificate of Insurance?    
Your Domestic TravInsure was successfully processed if it is reflected on the Confirmation Page and in your IndiGo Itinerary

2.  How will my accidental medical expenses be paid under Domestic TravInsure?    
You will be reimbursed for accidental medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered accident as detailed in the terms and conditions.

 

3.  If I meet with an accident during the trip for how long will the medical treatment be available?  
If you meet with an accident during the trip the policy provides for medical expenses necessarily incurred for treatment up to the validity of policy which is 30 days from the commencement of the policy or return to originating city which ever is earlier.

 

4.  Does Domestic TravInsure cover sports and other similar activities?  
No, Domestic TravInsure does not cover sports and similar activities. For more details, please refer to the terms and conditions of coverage.

 

5.  Can I cancel my trip for any reason and get all my money back through my Trip Cancellation Benefit?    
The Trip Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for reasons covered in the full terms and conditions.

Covered reasons include, but are not limited to, unforeseen emergencies such as illness, injury or death involving you, your travel companion and/or an immediate family member. Pre-existing Conditions are not covered.

 

6.  Does the policy cover pre existing conditions ?    
No the policy does not cover any pre existing conditions or complications arising there from.

 

7.  What Does my Baggage loss Benefit cover?    
The Baggage loss coverage is available only if entire baggage has been lost while in custody of the common carrier terms and conditions.
