Skyline Rep Services, IndiGo's GSA partner in Kenya
Message from Saveer Vohra, CEO at Vohra Group
About Skyline Rep Services
Skyline Rep Services is an airline representation company under the GSA model,
focused on representing IndiGo in the African market. It is part of the Vohra Group, a
renowned and diversified conglomerate, standing as a beacon of success in East Africa.
Q1. What are the key trends you are seeing in travel from India to Kenya and vice
versa?
The Kenya-India corridor continues to be one of the busiest and most vibrant in the
region. Medical travel remains the dominant segment, with a significant number of
travelers heading to Hyderabad, renowned for its world-class hospitals and advanced
healthcare services. Notably, this Hyderabad-bound traffic now originates not only from
Kenya but increasingly from across East Africa, underscoring the city's growing
reputation as a medical hub.
Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) traffic continues to be a major contributor, while
leisure and business travel are also on the rise, with travelers increasingly exploring
India's diverse experiences and entrepreneurs pursuing opportunities in one of the
world's fastest-growing markets.
A particularly promising and emerging segment is education-linked family travel. Many
Kenyans who studied in India are now returning with their families and seeking
opportunities for their children to connect with the country where they once lived and
learned. This is an emerging market we are actively developing, and one that we
believe will grow significantly.
Q2. What strategies have helped you strengthen IndiGo's presence in Kenya?
Our approach to building IndiGo's presence in Kenya has always been strategic and
partnership-driven. We work very closely with the travel trade combining robust sales
efforts with regular training sessions, sales initiatives, and targeted incentive programs.
Our deep relationships with the business community, built through the various industries
our group is involved in, have also become an important platform to further strengthen
the IndiGo brand and widen its reach.
At the same time, we have focused on expanding IndiGo's visibility beyond Nairobi,
taking the brand into key secondary markets and inner cities across Kenya. This
grassroots approach ensures that awareness and demand extend well beyond the
capital.
We also believe strongly in building brand visibility beyond the traditional travel space.
One of the most impactful initiatives has been our active participation in the Africa Rally
Championship, where we proudly feature the IndiGo brand on our rally car.
Looking ahead, our focus is on evolving IndiGo's positioning even further. We are now
actively promoting it as a network carrier not just connecting Kenya to India but also
offering seamless onward access to destinations across Asia and beyond. This broader
value proposition will be key to unlocking new demand and attracting travelers who see
IndiGo as the gateway to a much larger global network.
Q3. Which are the top 'India by IndiGo' destination for your market?
Mumbai continues to lead as our top-performing city, thanks to its exceptional
connectivity across India and internationally. Hyderabad follows closely, driven by strong
demand in medical tourism. Ahmedabad and Delhi also show robust performance,
particularly in medical and business travel.
