Recognizing IndiGos contribution to the Indian aviation sector and the nations overall GDP, NDTV Profit has conferred the prestigious NDTV Profit Business Leadership Award 2010 to the countrys youngest and fastest growing airline. This award marks IndiGos continued success in the Indian skies, and the strategy that has defined its unmatched performance in the region. Mr. Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo,received the award from the Honble Union Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, at a gala event in Mumbai today. The prestigious jury, comprising industry stalwarts, such as Dr. Prannoy Roy, Chairman, NDTV, Kalpana Morparia, CEO, JP Morgan India, and Naina Lal Kidwai, Country Head, HSBC India, among others, recognized and honored organizations and business leaders who have played a significant role in shaping the Indian economy. The NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards have had been instituted to award organizational excellence, and promise to acknowledge the brightest Indian organizations that have emerged leaders in their respective verticals. The judging process was divided into 6 stages such as:Finalization of award categories, Collation of Nomination Universe, Filter Nominees rank short listed entities, Define parameters and assigning weights, Questionnaire Rollout,Nomination Process Review & Jury Meeting Preparation and Evaluation by Jury. In the final stage, a renowned jury debated over the nominees companies and identified the winners. Along with the NDTV Profit team, the business process advisors decided on the final list of award verticals across domains. The basis of deciding the verticals was to include the high growth industries that form a significant part of India's GDP. A total of around 900 companies were screened and IndiGo was shortlisted as a nominee in the category of aviation.

The cabin crew of Indias coolest airline is all set to don an international look with their deep blue tunic and IndiGo blue hats! The well-styled, clean cut tunic has been designed by none other thanRajesh Pratap Singh, who has given Indian designs the perfect international touch, making his clothing line one of the most popular ones in the fashion fraternity today. Somewhere between tennis and a shirt dress, the tunic is bi-color navy with a highlight of indigo on the belt. Functional and timeless elegance, the new uniform is "No nonsense" in line with the spirit of the airline. Literally, to top it all is the use of a hat for the very first time in India. Its an IndiGo blue hat with the IndiGo cabin crew wings proudly displayed on it. Subtle style and graphic elements have been used. Style lines have been used keeping in mind comfort and stretch for the ease of movement. Various technical functional requirements of the in-flight environment have been incorporated. BeforeRajesh Pratapembarked on creating this masterpiece, design inputs were taken from in-flight crew and senior management to create a single piece garment to address the identified "on the job" requirements. Ambika Pillaihas broken ground this time by coming up with a standard and unique IndiGo look for all the girls with a set short hair style. This is a pioneering effort that has never been done before in keeping with the high standards that IndiGo has set since its inception four years ago. The makeup is a beautiful pink and brick red color on the lips and nails makes a remarkable statement and the eyes are nude with a pull out liner, thus creating an entirely new look for the IndiGo cabin crew. Ambika Pillaihas had a long-standing association with IndiGo since she was involved in creating the original look as well at the launch of IndiGo four years ago. Indias largest low-fare carrier will operate its seven daily non-stop services from Delhi-Mumbai, and two daily non-stop services between Mumbai - Nagpur, and Mumbai -Goa.
