5 reasons why Bengaluru is the perfect winter getaway if you hate the cold

Bengaluru, commonly known as Bangalore, is the capital of India’s southern Karnataka state and is the largest city in the region. The town, which serves as the nerve center of India’s high-tech sector, is also known for its abundance of green spaces.

This cosmopolitan metropolis, known as India’s Garden City and its Silicon Valley, captivates visitors with a unique combination of rich history and 21st-century energy. While the city’s historical palaces and forts serve as a testament to its cultural heritage, new establishments such as the Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru, with its current view and design, usher in the new millennium. The town is undoubtedly at a crossroads, and this is one of the most compelling reasons to go to this special place in Southern India.

    1. Weather

Bengaluru’s pleasant temperature is one of the primary reasons it is often ranked as one of the best locations to visit in the world. Even though temperatures throughout the globe are increasing, Bangaloreans can still brag of rather good weather all year round, and even on the warmest days, a cool breeze provides a welcome respite. April is the warmest month in Bengaluru, with an average temperature of 86°F (30°C), while the coldest month is December, with an average temperature of 73°F (23°C).

    2. Performing arts and greenery

Come to Nrityagram Dance Village for a once-in-a-lifetime experience like no other. This establishment, founded by Protima Bedi, is a world unto itself. The residential school provides Indian classical dance forms such as Odissi, Mohiniattam, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Manipuri and contemporary dance forms.

Bengaluru still boasts a great green expanse, even though old-timers would fondly recall the good old Garden City days. Cubbon Park, the city’s centre breathing area, or the shaded Lalbagh Gardens, where the yearly flower exhibit is to look forward to, are excellent options.

    3. Art scene

Wander around the art galleries and let yourself be transported to an engaging environment. Even while the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), a vast white facility situated on Palace Road, emanates a certain amount of warmth, it also exudes a distinct air of its own. With its abundance of greenery, the campus is nothing short of a haven for students. After you have finished seeing the vast collection on display or a current exhibition, take some time to relax beneath the shade of the many growing trees, which include sandalwood, rain trees and banyan trees.

Since this is the actual pub capital of India, there are a slew of microbreweries serving up superb craft beers to choose from. Bengaluru is a beer lover’s delight, thanks to the excellent craft beers available. It is competing for “Brewery Capital of India” with the erstwhile “Pub City.”

    4. Palatable food

There is food for everyone in Bengaluru, from trendy and exotic to classic South Indian dishes, and it is all available. Choose from various dishes such as crisp dosas, exquisite pizzas, sushi and street cuisine. There is little doubt that you will be thrilled by the vibrant cuisine of the city. Food trails throughout the city’s historic districts, like Malleswaram and Basavanagudi, transport visitors back in time. Brahmin’s Café, where you may have a warm cup of frothy South Indian filter coffee, is the perfect place to end your hike.

    5. Architecture and weekend getaways

Bengaluru’s skyline is peppered with gleaming new high rises showing the finest in contemporary architectural design, paired with historic structures like the Bangalore Palace and Vidhana Soudha. If you are interested in art and design, then Bengaluru should be on your list of must-see places in India. UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace and Bangalore Fort witness the city’s pulsating cultural pulse.

Bengaluru is in an ideal position, just a few hours’ drive (on great roads) away from scenic hills and woods that provide fantastic weekend getaways. Drive down to Mysore city and take in the sights and sounds of the architecture, or drive to Coorg for a rejuvenating weekend on the coffee fields. Do you like a good thrill? After that, go on a safari and see if you can locate one of India’s big cats in their natural environment.
