IndiGo, the low-fare domestic airline that is redefining airline quality standards in India, has taken delivery of its 17th brand new Airbus A320 aircraft to further expand its route network with the introduction of 6 new flights from February 29th onwards. With the launch of these new services, IndiGo will operate 118 daily flights connecting 17 destinations. IndiGo will introduce non-stop round trip service between Kolkata and Bangalore, as well as add flights between Kolkata and Guwahati and between Bangalore and Chennai. With the same aircraft, IndiGo will also offer connecting services between Mumbai and Guwahati and between Guwahati and Bangalore and continuation to Chennai. Speaking on the launch of new and additional services,Mr. Bruce Ashby, President and CEO, IndiGo,said, We are pleased to announce these services, which will provide our customers greater flexibility in organizing their travel and will further help us in strengthening our route network. With its 17th aircraft, the airline now connects 17 destinations, including Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Vadodara. IndiGo plans to serve approximately 30 Indian cities by 2010, with a fleet of approximately 40 A320s.
