Tuesday, August 26, 2014:Following the recent announcement of reducing the Sales Tax (ST) on the Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) for all flights operating out of Vishakhapatnam Andhra Pradesh - IndiGo, Indias fastest growing low cost carrier has announced the launch of new flights from Vishakhapatnam effective October 10. Honble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu chaired the meeting with industry leaders along with Honble Minister for Civil Aviation Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati and the Honble Secretary to the Minister of Civil Aviation Shri J. Krishna Kishore for enhanced connectivity in Andhra Pradesh. During the meeting Honble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh announced a lower Sales Tax on ATF for the State. The decision on tax on ATF was based on suggestion made by all domestic airlines including IndiGo.
