IndiGo announces fuel surcharges to counter the recent upward surge in oil prices

National, May 29, 2018: In the wake of a sharp uptick in the price of oil and the cost of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), the country’s largest low cost carrier, IndiGo, has decided to reintroduce fuel surcharges effective May 30, 2018. Aircraft fuel expenses represent the single largest item of IndiGo’s total expenses, accounting for around 40 percent of the airline's cost of operation. Furthermore, the depreciating Indian Rupee is an additional cost burden on the Indian carriers. Given this scenario for a low cost airline, levying a surcharge has become inevitable. A sum of Rs. 200 will be added on routes less than 1000 km distance, and Rs. 400 on routes longer than 1000 km distance. The surcharge will be applicable on all domestic trips i.e. within India, and will come into effect at midnight on May 29, 2018.

IndiGo provides enhanced connectivity across India; Adds 20 new flights

National, May 28, 2018: IndiGo, India’s favourite on time performer, is further enhancing its customer experience with the launch of 20 new flights across its network. Effective, July 01, 2018, India’s largest low-cost carrier, will now operate a 2nd daily flight between Bengaluru – Varanasi, Bengaluru- Chandigarh, and a 3rd daily flight between Ranchi – Bengaluru and Indore – Bengaluru.6E will also operate an additional flight between Cochin and Tiruchirappalli and Tiruchirappalli and Bengaluru effective June 28, 2018.

IndiGo launches Hubli as its 52nd destination; Fares starting INR 1299

National, May 16, 2018: Reinforcing its commitment to the south India market, IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing low-cost carrier, has announced the launch of Hubli as its 52nd destination. IndiGo with its 9th ATR aircraft will operate daily direct flights connecting Hubli to Goa and Kochi from June 28, 2018. The low cost carrier will also operate additional flights between Hubli-Chennai, Hubli- Bengaluru and Hubli- Ahmedabad with Airbus A320, starting July 01, 2018.

IndiGo strengthens flight connectivity from Tiruchirappalli with two new additions; Plans to connect Bengaluru and Kochi

National, May 09, 2018: After the recent launch of Tiruchirappalli as its 51st destination - IndiGo, country’s largest and fastest growing low cost carrier is all set to add two more sectors connecting Tiruchirappalli. The airline will soon operate a direct flight between Tiruchirappalli and Bengaluru and Tiruchirappalli and Kochi. IndiGo with its seventh ATR will operate four direct flights from Chennai to Tiruchirappalli from June 01.
