National, January 27, 2020: Mr. Ronojoy Dutta has been redesignated as a Whole Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of InterGlobe Aviation Limited with immediate effect. The decision was taken unanimously by the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held today. The term of Mr. Dutta’s appointment in his new role will be valid up to January 23, 2024.
National, January 24, 2020: In the interest of increasing connectivity between India and South-East Asian regions, India’s leading carrier, IndiGo, today announced the launch of daily direct flights between Delhi and Bangkok, effective March 29, 2020. Currently IndiGo serves two Thai destinations – Bangkok and Phuket. Increasing its presence from Delhi, Bangkok will be the 14th international destination connected with the Capital city. These flights will cater to the growing demand on the sector, with Thailand being one of the favourite international destination for Indian travellers.
National, January 23, 2020: In a bid to enhance point-to-point connectivity, India’s leading carrier - IndiGo - today announced the launch of daily direct flights connecting Chengdu with Mumbai effective March 15, 2020. Currently IndiGo’s extensive network connects two destinations in China – Chengdu with Delhi and Guangzhou with Kolkata via daily direct flights. With the launch of these flights, Mumbai will be the third metro connected with China directly, while the frequency will be 42 IndiGo flights operating to and fro between India and China each week.
National, January 10, 2020: IndiGo, India’s leading airline, today announced the launch of a daily direct flight connecting Gorakhpur and Prayagraj, in-line with its vision of increasing point-to-point connectivity across Tier II and III cities. The airline will be exclusively operating these flights under the government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) on its ATR fleet. IndiGo currently operates daily non-stop flights connecting Gorakhpur with Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
National, January 10, 2020: In a bid to create corridors of connectivity from the country, India’s leading carrier – IndiGo - today announced daily direct flights connecting Kolkata with Dubai and Doha, effective February 16 and March 01, 2020 respectively. Also known as the ‘City of Joy’, Kolkata witnessed the highest growth of 13.3% in foreign tourist arrivals (FTA) between April-December 2019, among all the metro cities in the country. These flights will further strengthen connectivity from the city to the Middle-East and cater to the growing international traffic to and from Kolkata.
National, January 03, 2020: In a bid to strengthen connectivity within North-East India, IndiGo, India’s leading airline, today announced Aizawl as its 62nd domestic and 85th overall destination. Mizoram will be the sixth amongst the eight north-eastern sister states to be connected by IndiGo to it large domestic and international network. The airline already operates flights to and from five North-Eastern states including – Assam (Guwahati), Nagaland (Dimapur), Manipur (Imphal), Tripura (Agartala), Meghalaya (Shillong).
