National, June 30, 2022: IndiGo, India’s largest airline, and Turkish Airline, the national flag carrier airline of Türkiye, have resumed their codeshare flights and partnership by opening the sale earlier this month. Scheduled operations will be restarted in a phased manner with the first flight effective yesterday. The codeshare is considered as Bilateral Free Flow Codeshare wherein both the airlines will place its code on another’s flights. The agreement will enable both the carriers to provide more flexibility of choice to the customers on sectors between India and Istanbul, amongst others.
National, June 29, 2022: IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, announced additional frequencies between DelhiLeh, Delhi-Srinagar, and Lucknow-Pantnagar effective from July 01 and July 15, 2022, respectively. The Delhi-Leh flight will operate daily at 4:20am from July 01 and will operate at 4:30am from August 01, 2022. To cater to the high demand IndiGo will be adding two additional daily flights for Srinagar from the period between 01 July till 11 August 2022, departing from Delhi at 05:20 and 21:30 and from Srinagar at 07:20 and 23:15. These flights will strengthen IndiGo’s network in northern India.
National, June 23, 2022: India’s leading carrier, IndiGo, won Value Airline of the year award at the recently held ATW’s Airline Industry Achievement Awards 2022 in Doha. IndiGo was honored for expanding its domestic and international network, and contribution to the Indian aviation sector despite the pandemic. The award was presented to Mr. Willy Boulter- Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo during the 48th annual ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards 2022.
National, June 13, 2022: IndiGo, India’s largest carrier, successfully transported a live organ – a donated heart - from Vadodara to Mumbai on flight 6E 6734 on June 07, 2022. IndiGo also supported the Global Hospitals’ heart transplant team in arranging logistic support to transport the live organ in Vadodara and Mumbai. IndiGo team safely transferred the live heart from the operation theatre (OT) in Vadodara to the Global Hospitals OT in Mumbai in 2hrs 22mins. This was well within the stipulated (ischemic time) limit of 3 hrs for the live organ transfer. The team from Global Hospitals, Parel, operated in a hospital in Vadodara to harvest the heart, which was then transferred to the hospital in Mumbai for a successful transplant, saving a life.
National, June 05, 2022: India’s leading carrier, IndiGo, has collaborated with CommuniTree for a beach clean-up drive in Chennai’s Thiruvanmiyur Beach on the occasion of World Environment Day. The cleanup drive was led by IndiGo team and Agile airport services based in Chennai. The trash collected at the beach was sent for recycling. The drive was aimed at creating awareness among citizens to keep our beaches clean and adopt environment-friendly practices, everywhere. This initiative is a part of the larger IndiGo Green mission, wherein the airline is working towards reducing the impact on the environmental and contribute through social and sustainability initiatives.
National, June 05, 2022: IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, is implementing innovative measures to reduce water and fuel consumption on flights, on the occasion of world environment day. The airline has successfully conducted trials with a new water faucet in 200 flights which reduced water consumption by 5.4 ltr/hr. For an average length 138 min flight (as per our trials conducted onboard), we saved 12.42 Ltr of water per flight.
National, June 03, 2022: India’s leading carrier, IndiGo, won the Indian Air cargo Covid Transport Leader of Covid Vaccine award at the recently held CarGo India Conference in Mumbai. IndiGo won the award for swiftly transporting COVID vaccines across India during the pandemic. IndiGo’s actions saved innumerable lives and livelihoods and helped the country emerge from the pandemic quickly. The award was presented to Mr. Mahesh Malik, Chief Commercial Officer- CarGo, IndiGo, during a conference at the Grand Hyatt in Santacruz, Mumbai.
