About Gesture of Care

Caring for our customers remains our greatest focus. Our Gesture of Care (GoC) is an expression of IndiGo’s commitment to facilitate customers on eligible flights who were scheduled to travel and were severely impacted and stranded due to prolonged delays and/or cancellations on 03rd, 04th and 05th December 2025. As part of GoC, customers of eligible flights will receive a travel voucher for INR 10,000 in two denominations of INR 5,000 (each).

What is IndiGo’s Gesture of Care?

Our Gesture of Care (GoC) is an expression of IndiGo’s commitment to facilitate customers on eligible flights who were scheduled to travel and were severely impacted and stranded due to prolonged delays and/or cancellations on 03rd, 04th and 05th December 2025. As part of GoC, customers of eligible flights will receive a travel voucher for INR 10,000 in two denominations of INR 5,000 (each).

Is the INR 10,000 travel voucher issued per customer or per PNR?

Each customer matters to us. That is why the Gesture of Care Travel Voucher is issued per customer. The travel voucher is worth INR 10,000. For a hassle-free user experience, two (02) travel vouchers worth INR 5,000 (each), are provided to each customer. For example, if a family of three customers or if three people are booked under one PNR, each customer will receive an email with two (02) individual travel vouchers (each worth INR 5,000)

What is the validity of the travel voucher?

The travel voucher is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issuance of the travel voucher. Customers should utilise their individual travel voucher(s) to book their next trip anytime within this period, even if the travel is scheduled for dates beyond the voucher’s validity. We would like all our customers to have a flexible and hassle-free travel experience.

What are the terms and conditions for using this travel voucher?

  • Booking and travel: Bookings must be completed before the travel voucher expires; travel may be scheduled for a later date
  • Usage: Each travel voucher is single-use, non-transferable, and specific to the name mentioned on the travel voucher
  • Flexibility: Customers can enjoy complete freedom. There are no restrictions on fare class, blackout dates, or booking type
  • Redemption: The travel voucher can be redeemed for flights and add-ons (like seats, pre-booked meals, or excess baggage) booked only through IndiGo’s website

How and when will customers receive their travel vouchers?

Customers who are eligible for travel vouchers will receive an email delivered to their registered email address with a secure link to their travel voucher. For customers whose email addresses are not registered with us, the travel voucher will be delivered to the email address within 24 hours of the same being registered with us by the customer. If customers are unable to see the email in their inbox, they should check other folders in their registered email address. Should you still be unable to locate it, feel free to contact our customer support at customer.experience@goindigo.in. We will be happy to assist you.

Is the INR 10,000 travel voucher only for customers whose travel was scheduled on December 03rd, 04th, or 05th?

The INR 10,000 travel voucher is applicable only for eligible flights where the customers who were scheduled to travel and were severely impacted and stranded at airports from noon of the 03rd to end of day 05th December due to prolonged flight delay and/or cancellations.

Are minors and infants eligible?

Minors and infants are absolutely eligible and will be provided these travel vouchers. Their parents or guardians may receive the Gesture of Care travel vouchers on their behalf.

What about regular flight cancellations (non-severely impacted flights)?

For regular flight cancellations, IndiGo will support its customers as per Civil Aviation Requirements [‘CAR’].

What is the eligibility for Gesture of Care?

The Gesture of Care applies to those flights where customers were severely impacted and stranded at airports from noon of the 03rd to end of day on 05th December 2025 due to prolonged flight delay and/or cancellations announced within four hours of scheduled departure resulting in flight cancellations/delays beyond three hours.

Civil Aviation Requirement Compensation

We are committed to caring for our customers. All customers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of their departure time are eligible for compensation from IndiGo under the CAR. Mode of Compensation

IndiGo Voucher


  • Step 1: Click on ‘IndiGo Voucher’
  • Step 2: Accept the IndiGo Privacy Policy and confirm your consent to accept the compensation
  • Step 3: Complete OTP verification on your email address. Await your confirmation message

 

 

Upon successful verification, the IndiGo voucher will be sent to your email address in 24-48 hours.

Transfer to your bank account


  • Step 1: Select ‘Domestic’ or ‘International’ from the tab below
  • Step 2: Fill out the bank details form, ensuring your name on the bank account matches the name on your ticket and all details are accurate to avoid delays/rejection
    • For Domestic Bank Transfers:
      • Provide your bank name
      • Enter your bank account number
      • Enter your IFSC code and account type (savings/current)
    • For International Bank Transfers:
      • Provide your bank name
      • Enter the name of the account holder
      • Enter the account number
      • Share your SWIFT Code and IBAN
      • Select your country
      • Enter the address for your bank and home
  • Step 3: Submit the following documents:
    • For Domestic Bank Transfers:
      • Upload a cancelled cheque for verification
    • For International Bank Transfers:
      • Upload a copy of your passport
  • Step 4: Accept the IndiGo Privacy Policy and confirm your consent to accept the compensation
  • Step 5: Complete OTP verification on your email address. Await your confirmation message [In case of more than one customer, repeat steps 1 to 5]

Upon successful eligibility and document verification, the amount will be credited to your bank account within 5–7 working days for domestic accounts and 10–15 working days for international accounts.

About CAR Compensation:

CAR compensation is mandated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) under Para 3.3.2. You are eligible for compensation under the following guidelines by DGCA:

The airlines shall either provide alternate flight as acceptable to the passenger or provide compensation in addition to the full refund of air ticket in accordance with the following provisions:

  • INR 5,000 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having a block time of up to and including 01 hour
  • INR 7,500 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having block time of more than 01 hour and up to and including 02 hours
  • INR 10,000 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having a block time of more than 02 hours
