Nose for thought: 5 perfume stores in Sharjah worth getting lost in

Arabic fragrances have a distinct and exotic aroma that distinguishes them and makes them easily identifiable. They have an air of elegance and the warmth of a millennium-long legacy. Perfumes and smells have evolved to play an essential role in everyone’s lives.

The present perfume business owes a great deal to ancient Arabic perfumery. Perfumes have been used by the Arabic civilization for about 5,000 years. Arabic scents and traditional Oud that most local inhabitants use are popular not just in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but across the world.

If you're looking for unique Arabic perfume stores in Sharjah, we've compiled a list of the top places to go.

    1. Arabian Oud

Arabian Oud is one of the world's largest and most well-known perfume brands and one of Sharjah's most prominent Arabic perfume boutiques, offering a wide range of pleasant and unique perfumes at reasonable pricing. Whether you're seeking Oud, musk, bakhoor, or attar, Arabian Oud has the highest quality. This famous perfume store has outlets in various shopping malls, including the Sahara Centre, so it is easy to find one close to where you are staying.

    2. V Perfumes

V Perfumes comes next on our list of Arabic perfume stores in Sharjah. With over a decade of expertise in selling men's and women's Arabic perfumes in Sharjah and around the UAE, it is the place to head to if you want to get musk.

    3. Nabeel Perfumes

Nabeel Perfumes is also one of Sharjah's oldest Arabic perfume businesses. In Sharjah, you can get high-quality Oud, bakhoor, deodorants, and the best Arabic scented oil here.

    4. Ahmed Al Maghribi Perfume

Ahmed Al Maghribi fragrances are Sharjah's oldest and most well-known Arabic perfume businesses. It has been in business for over 20 years and is home to some of the most amazing Arabic scents. This place has a variety of attar, musk, and Oud. They are located in several places in the region.

    5. Ajmal Perfumes

If you're looking for Sharjah's best Arabic perfume shop, go no further than Ajmal Perfumes, which has been in operation for over 65 years. Because there are several outlets around Sharjah and the UAE, you can easily find one near your place of stay. When in Sharjah, visit any one of their stores to get your favourite Arabic fragrance.

Tips to buy perfumes in Sharjah

If you are out and about in Sharjah looking to buy Arabic perfumes, for yourself or as a gift, here are a few tips you should consider:

    • All perfumes have a scent made up of several notes divided into three layers: top, middle, and base. All of these layers work together to create a mysterious fragrance. All fragrances are included in a broad scent group. For example, if a perfume is flowery, primarily, it will be labelled as such. So read the top, middle, and base notes to understand better which perfume would fit your taste and personality the best.
    • Perfumes are often available in two forms: Eau de parfum and Eau de toilette. The latter contains more oil, making it more expensive. They, however, last longer than Eau de toilette. The majority of Arab fragrances are Eau de parfum, which means they have a greater concentration of perfume oil and can last up to 48 hours.
    • Before purchasing a fragrance, always try a tester. Apply a small amount of perfume to understand its aroma. This allows you to determine whether they are appropriate for you.
    • When we go perfume shopping, we smell a range of scents which might cause nasal receptors to get overloaded. As a result, sniffing something neutral like coffee beans is advised. This will help you suppress the excess smells and help you make more informed selections.

    How to Reach

    • By Air: Sharjah International Airport, located 13 kilometres southeast of Sharjah, is the nearest airport. IndiGo operates 28 non-stop flights between Sharjah and select Indian cities, each week. Another option is to travel to Dubai and then go to Sharjah by road.
    • By Road: Take a metered cab or drive down from Dubai or the other nearby areas to Sharjah. Try to avoid peak hours, if possible.
    • By bus: The Dubai Government operates an inter-Emirates bus service between Sharjah and Dubai. Take a bus from the Al Jubail bus station that is close to the main Souk, between the Sharjah Fruit and Vegetable Market, and the Fish Market. On an average, the journey takes one hour.

    Best time to visit

Sharjah is best visited during the winter season, which lasts from December through February. The season is generally referred to as the peak tourist season due to the excellent weather, absence of rain, and low humidity. The average temperature during this time period is roughly 20°C. Even the months of March and April are ideal for visiting the country.

However, the summers (May-August) are pretty hot. Sharjah has a dry climate and temperatures can reach 40-43°C in the summer months. The rising temperature and humidity make outdoor activities and sightseeing uncomfortable.
