Terms and Conditions for Lite Fare check-in baggage (Domestic Sectors):

Lite Fare does not include any free Checked-in baggage allowance.
If a customer arrives at the airport with any Checked-in or an over-weight cabin baggage i.e., exceeding the permitted weight or dimensions, applicable charges for the additional Checked-in Baggage will be charged.
Excess Baggage rates and policy will be applicable for any excess weight beyond the lite fare Checked-in bag allowance purchased (15 Kg).

Terms and Conditions for purchasing prepaid excess baggage for International Connecting Flights:

Excess baggage should to be booked at least 6 hours before the scheduled departure.
The domestic flight should be within 48 hours of your international flight or 48 hours after completion of institutional quarantine.

Customers/Passengers should produce relevant international travel documents or institutional quarantine release certificate, respectively, at the time of check-in failing which IndiGo will charge excess baggage as per applicable airport rates.

Seat Select - Preferential Seating

An unbundled service as per Air Transport Circular 04 of 2026 issued by DGCA. These are optional ‘add-on services’ available at an additional charge for convenience of the Customers. Booking of the ticket can be made without opting /availing these services.

Below is the table of charges for preferential seating. In case you do not wish to purchase a preferred seat, you can always select any free seat available or would be assigned a seat free of charge at the time of check-in at the airport.

IndiGo provides a “Look-in” option for a period of 48 (forty-eight) hours from the time of Booking, applicable only to tickets booked directly on the IndiGo’s website. During this period, Customers may cancel or amend the Booking without change or cancellation fee. However, any fare difference between the Tariff of the original Booking and the revised Booking shall be payable by the Customer.
This facility shall not be available where the scheduled departure is within 7 (seven) days for domestic flights or within 15 (fifteen) days for international flights from the date of booking.
If any cancellations to Bookings are undertaken through IndiGo’s call Centre, an additional fee upto INR 500 per person per sector will be levied by IndiGo.

Terms and Conditions for Lite Fare check-in baggage (International Sectors):

Lite Fare does not include any free Checked-in baggage allowance.
If a Customer arrives at the airport with any Checked-in or an over-weight cabin baggage i.e., exceeding the permitted weight or dimensions, applicable charges for the additional Checked-in Baggage will be charged.
Excess Baggage rates and policy will be applicable for any excess weight beyond the lite fare Checked-in bag allowance (15 Kg).
For all international sectors except Jaffna, the baggage allowance is 20 Kgs (2 Pieces).
For Jaffna, the baggage allowance is 15 Kgs (1 Piece).

Seat Select - Preferential Seating

An unbundled service as per Air Transport Circular 04 of 2026 issued by DGCA. These are optional ‘add-on services’ available at an additional charge for convenience of the Customers. Booking of the ticket can be made without opting /availing these services.

Below is the table of charges for preferential seating. In case you do not wish to purchase a preferred seat, you can always select any free seat available or would be assigned a seat free of charge at the time of check-in at the airport.

IndiGo provides a “Look-in” option for a period of 48 (forty-eight) hours from the time of Booking, applicable only to tickets booked directly on the IndiGo’s website. During this period, Customers may cancel or amend the Booking without change or cancellation fee. However, any fare difference between the Tariff of the original Booking and the revised Booking shall be payable by the Customer.

This facility shall not be available where the scheduled departure is within 7 (seven) days for domestic flights or within 15 (fifteen) days for international flights from the date of booking.

If any cancellations to Bookings are undertaken through IndiGo’s call centre, an additional fee of upto INR 500 per person per sector will be levied by IndiGo.

Note: Base fare and fuel surcharge will be applied if canceled within 24 hours.

Checked-In Baggage

i. Allowance of check-in baggage will be displayed at the time of making the booking.

ii. Checked-in Baggage allowance for 6E*/TK (IN-US) flights: (6E marketed)

IndiGo allows free Checked-in Baggage up to 2 (two) pieces each weighing not more than 23kgs per person/Customer for its Economy Class flights operating to US markets (i.e., New York City, Boston, Chicago, Washington) under Codeshare arrangement. In case, such single (1) piece weighs above 23 kg per person/Customer, IndiGo will levy Excess Baggage charges as set out under point no. (iii) below.
In case, a Customer/passenger wish to travel with more than 2 (two) piece of Checked-in Baggage, IndiGo will levy an “Additional Piece” charges as set out in the table in point no. (iii) below.

iii. Excess baggage charges for passengers travelling on 6E Marketed and TK Operated (IN-US) flights: IndiGo will levy a per piece excess baggage charge for each Additional Piece of Checked-in Baggage as mentioned in table below:

Terms and Conditions for purchasing prepaid excess baggage for International Connecting Flights:

Excess baggage should to be booked at least 6 hours before the scheduled departure.
The domestic flight should be within 48 hours of your international flight or 48 hours after completion of institutional quarantine.

Customers/Passengers should produce relevant international travel documents or institutional quarantine release certificate, respectively, at the time of check-in failing which IndiGo will charge excess baggage as per applicable airport rates.

IndiGo provides a “Look-in” option for a period of 48 (forty-eight) hours from the time of Booking, applicable only to tickets booked directly on the IndiGo’s website. During this period, Customers may cancel or amend the Booking without change or cancellation fee. However, any fare difference between the Tariff of the original Booking and the revised Booking shall be payable by the Customer.

This facility shall not be available where the scheduled departure is within 7 (seven) days for domestic flights or within 15 (fifteen) days for international flights from the date of booking.
