6E Switch
‘6E Switch’ is an ‘add‑on service’ offered by IndiGo, which lets you change your travel date once at no extra change fee, up to 72 hours before departure. Available only at the time of booking, it gives you the flexibility to travel on your schedule.
How it works?

Select 6E Switch add-on while booking your flight on IndiGo
STEP 02
For any change, customer can make changes in their booking through “Find my Booking” page under “Trips” tab on IndiGo Website and App
Trips >> Find & View Booking >> Enter PNR details >> Change Flight
STEP 03
For any change made 72hrs before departure, standard change fee will be waived off. Customer still need to pay if there is any additional payment required due to change in fare

Changes done within 72hrs before departure, standard Change fee is applicable.
With 6E Switch, user can make changes in their booking only once. Post Free change, standard Change fee is applicable.
6E Switch – Terms & Conditions
‘6E Switch’ is an ‘add‑on service’ offered by IndiGo. Under this service, Customer will receive a 100% waiver of applicable change fee when modifying or rescheduling a Booking within the below prescribed ‘change window’ and in accordance with these Terms & Conditions (6E Switch’).
- Eligibility:
- 6E Switch service is available only when purchased with ‘Saver fare, Family fare, return fare, and sale fare’, and is not available with any other fare type.
- 6E Switch must be selected and paid at the time of Booking. It cannot be purchased after the Booking is completed.
- Booking channel – 6E Switch is only available at the time of Booking and exclusively through IndiGo's website (goindigo.in) and mobile application.
- 6E Switch Fee- The 6E Switch Fee starts from INR 399 for domestic flights and INR 699 for international flights plus any applicable convenience fee.
- Change Window: Customers may modify or change their booking once, up to 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure for both domestic and international flights. Any changes made within 72 hours of the scheduled departure shall be subject to the standard and applicable ‘change fees for Saver Fare’.
- Exlcusions:
6E Switch cannot be purchased within 72 hours of scheduled departure for both Domestic and international flights. - Round Trips, Connecting Flights and Multi-Sector Booking: For round trips, connecting flights and multi-sector Bookings under a single PNR, 6E Switch service applies to the entire PNR and not to individual sectors, i.e., 6E Switch must apply to all Flight Segments within the itinerary. However, redemption shall be on per journey basis and only once per journey, any Customers may modify any sector of the journey in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
- Refund on 6E Switch Service:
- IndiGo provides a “Look-in” option for a period of 48 (forty-eight) hours from the time of Booking, applicable only to tickets booked directly on the IndiGo’s website. During this period, Customers may cancel or amend the Booking without change fee. However, any fare difference between the Flight Tariff of the original Booking and the revised Booking shall be payable by the Customer.
- This facility shall not be available where the scheduled departure is within 7 (seven) days for domestic flights or within 15 (fifteen) days for international flights from the date of booking. Customers can reach out to the IndiGo contact centre at +91 124-4973838 / 124-6173838 for assistance.
Note: If any Flight Date Changes are undertaken through IndiGo’s call centre, an additional fee of INR 500 per person per sector will be levied by IndiGo.
- Non Refundability:
- The 6E Switch Fee including any convenience fee, is non-refundable, except where IndiGo cancels a flight due to reasons beyond its control and the Customer chooses to receive full refund.
- In case of a ‘No-Show’ (failure to check-in or report at the boarding gate within stipulated timelines) and failure to change/modify the Booking, the standard ‘No-Show’ policy shall apply. The 6E Switch benefits shall be forfeited, and no refund of the 6E Switch Fee will be provided.
- The 6E Switch Fee cannot be carried forward, transferred, or adjusted against any future booking or credit shell.
- Payment restrictions: The 6E Switch add-on cannot be purchased for by using IndiGo Bluchips, reward points, voucher points, Credit Points, promo balances or similar instruments.
- Conditions of Carriage: Except for the Terms and Conditions provided herein, all other terms and conditions shall be subject to IndiGo’s Conditions of Carriage available on IndiGo’s website. In case of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any other set of terms, these Terms and Conditions will prevail as regards to ‘6E Switch’ service.
- Right to Withdraw: IndiGo reserves the right to withdraw or modify these terms, at any time, at its absolute discretion, without assigning any reason. The decision of IndiGo in this regard shall be final and binding.
- Governing Law: These terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws in India, and all disputes related to 6E Switch service, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi, India.
- Data Protection: Any personal data of the Customers which is collected or processed during the booking process of 6E Switch shall be done in accordance with IndiGo’s Privacy Policy.
- By purchasing this 6E Switch service, the Customer explicitly agree that they have read and understood the above-mentioned Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them.

How many times can I change my flight date?
You can change your flight date one time per journey.
Will I have to pay any extra charges when changing the date?
Yes, you may need to pay the fare difference, if applicable. The standard change fee is waived off.
Till when can I use 6E Switch to modify my flight date?
You can use the 6E Switch add-on to update your travel date up to 72 hours before departure for domestic flights and 72 hours before departure for international flights.
Is the 6E Switch fee refundable?
No, the 6E Switch fee is non-refundable and non-transferable (except for the scenarios mentioned in the TnC’s).
What happens if I cancel my booking?
If you cancel your booking, the 6E Switch fee will not be refunded.
Can I use 6E Switch for round-trip bookings?
Yes, you can use 6E Switch for the round-trip bookings. When booked for round trip, you can change the onward journey once and return journey once. One change per journey for one passenger will be allowed.
Can I change the return flight after traveling the onward flight?
Yes, return flight date changes are allowed after the onward journey is flown.
Can I use 6E Switch on group or codeshare bookings?
No, 6E Switch is not available for group bookings or on codeshare flights.
Can I pay for 6E Switch add-on using IndiGo Bluchip points or vouchers?
No, 6E Switch Add-on cannot be purchased using IndiGo Bluchip points, Credit shell or vouchers.
Does the DGCA 24-hour 6E Switch rule still apply?
Yes. The DGCA exemption on flight booking and cancellation allows passengers to cancel or amend their bookings within 48 hrs without extra charges except for any fare difference applicable if the ticket is rescheduled to a higher price flight. This is only available for bookings made on the airline website and if booked at least 7 days before the travel dates for domestic travel and 15 days for international travel.
