IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing airline and favourite on-time performer draws the year to a close with a truly Happy New Year. IndiGo took delivery of its 13th Airbus A-320 Neo ‘VT – ITH’ aircraft to join its ever growing fleet on 27th December, 2016. With this aircraft, the airline now has a 125 aircraft fleet in its 125th month of operation. The expansion is in sync with IndiGo’s organic growth in route network and in response to the growing demand on its existing routes. Effective January 01, 2017, the new schedule will see 10 additional frequencies connecting Hyderabad to Goa, Coimbatore, Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam. Strengthening of 6E’s fleet size illustrates the airline’s expansion plan, and the month-on-month growth IndiGo has witnessed in the domestic skies.

India’s travel industry leaders gathered in New Delhi yesterday to mark the official launch of IndiGo’s fares and ancillaries on Travelport’s (NYSE:TVPT) leading Travel Commerce Platform in India. IndiGo is India’s largest domestic airline and one of the world’s fastest growing low cost carriers. In a GDS-industry first, IndiGo announced in September that it had signed a strategic partnership to distribute its low fares and ancillaries to all connected Travelport travel agencies around the world – both online and offline. The Travelport platform offers fully integrated, industry leading merchandising capabilities and is used extensively by travel agencies in India as well as other key target markets for IndiGo. The agreement comes when advances in travel technology are empowering traditional retailers to be more competitive.2 India’s economic growth accelerated in 2015 reaching an average of 7.3%, meaning the 7th largest economy registered the fastest GDP growth rate in the world.

Reinforcing its commitment to the growing demands of the domestic sector, IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing airline and favourite on-time performer is introducing 47 new flights on its existing route network during October 2016. With this and the induction of five new Airbus A320 aircraft during the month, the airline’s frequency will increase to 883 daily. Additionally, to further extend connectivity, 6E will operate more flights connecting the metros to the key cities including Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Guwahati and Patna.

Effective September 12, 2016, India’s largest and fastest growing carrier will operate additional flights connecting Delhi with major cities - Bhubaneswar, Vadodara, Chandigarh and Jammu. IndiGo will also introduce additional frequencies between Delhi & Kolkata, Delhi & Ranchi and Kolkata & Bhubaneswar sectors effective September 15, 2016.

Establishing the growing importance of emerging domestic sectors, IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing airline has announced the addition of Port Blair as its 41st overall and 36th domestic destination in its schedule. The new schedule sees introduction of new daily non-stop flights to Port Blair from Kolkata and Chennai effective 28 September and 30 September 2016 respectively. Port Blair will also be connected to Delhi (via Kolkata) and Hyderabad (via Chennai) also. Celebrating its tenth year in Indian skies, the airline will also launch additional frequencies with daily non-stop flight between Delhi & Kolkata, Delhi & Chennai and Hyderabad & Varanasi sectors.

Effective August 15, IndiGo will operate its 1st daily non-stop flight on Kolkata and Visakhapatnam sector. India’s largest and fastest growing low-cost carrier, IndiGo, is enhancing its customer experience in the international and domestic markets with the launch of ten new flights within India and Oman. Effective May 16, 2016, IndiGo will commence an additional flight connecting Delhi to Ranchi. With effect from June 21, 2016, the airline will introduce its first flight on the Kochi-Muscat route, while also launching its second flight connecting Hyderabad to Kochi. Furthermore, effective June 22, 2016, IndiGo will begin operations with its first flight between Hyderabad and Coimbatore & Hyderabad and Nagpur.
Both corporate and leisure travelers will now have the opportunity to experience the matchless on-time performance that IndiGo is synonymous with. With 773 flights connecting 40 destinations, these new flights will further consolidate IndiGo’s position as the fastest growing airline in India.

The airline will introduce operations on the Chennai-Guwahati route with its first non-stop flight, commencing on April 07, 2016, while also connecting Bengaluru to Chennai, Bengaluru to Guwahati and Delhi to Raipur with new flights, on the same day. Effective April 09, 2016 IndiGo will enhance operations between Delhi and Bengaluru & Delhi and Ahmedabad with additional frequencies. Furthermore, effective April 12, 2016, the carrier will commence operations with its first flight on the Chennai-Jaipur route as well as the Chennai-Lucknow (via Bengaluru) route, while also beginning new flights on the Bengaluru-Lucknow and Bengaluru-Chennai routes.
