• You need to renew your passport to get a Vietnam visa since your passport must be valid for at least six months.
• Here is how you can obtain your visa on arrival online. Indian citizens can now apply for Vietnam evisa, valid for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry
• Indians are eligible for the Vietnam Visa On Arrival, which will allow a stay of 30 days. However, it is important to note that you require an approval letter to apply for a VOA. The approval letter must be obtained online before you travel to Vietnam
• Resolution of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam unilateral VISA exemption citizens of these following countries:
  JAPAN / RUSSIA / SOUTH KOREA / DENMARK / NORWAY / FINLAND / SWEDEN / BELARUS / THE UNITED KINGDOM / FRANCE / GERMANY / ITALY & SPAIN
  Customers belonging to these countries can visit Vietnam without entry VISA for a stay of 45 days. Conditions for VISA – Free entry: Passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
• VISA EXEMPTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN VIETNAM & KAZAKHSTAN, effective May 25th, 2024: Citizens of either state holding valid ordinary passports with a minimum validity of 6 months shall be exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, transit, and temporary stays in the territory of the other party for up to 30 calendar days from the date of entry. The accumulated duration of stay should not exceed 90 calendar days within each 180-day period. A visa should be obtained if the stay exceeds 30 days.

UAE Citizens travelling to Vietnam

• UAE nationals with Diplomatic or Special Passports are exempt from visa requirements.
• UAE nationals with an Official Passport must obtain a visa in advance.

Vietnam is one of the prettiest countries in the world. The first step obtain a Vietnam visa is choosing the type of visa and determining whether you are eligible for it or not.

• To apply for a Vietnam visa from India, you can check out their official site
• You can download the visa application form and fill in your information
• Carry the form with you to the Vietnam Visa Application Centre for submission
• Once you have filled out your application, you can pay your visa application fee
• Remember that you will have to pay the fee at the Vietnam Visa Application Centre in cash

Note: The citizens of countries, including Japan, Russia, South Korea, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Belarus, The United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, are exempted from a visa for a 45-day stay in Vietnam with a condition that the passport must be valid for at least 6 months.

Processing time for tourist visas

The processing time for a ‘normal tourist visa’ from Delhi, India, is between 10 to 12 working days, and from other locations, it can take an additional day or two longer. Kindly note, that this is an indicative visa processing time. It can take less or more time depending on the application's complexity.

For this type of visa, a traveller is allowed to visit Vietnam for official purposes.

Processing time for business visa

The processing time for a business visa from Delhi, India, is between 10 to 12 working days, and from other locations, it can take an additional day or two longer. Kindly note, that these is an indicative visa processing time. It can take less or more time depending on the  application's complexity. 

If you want to extend your stay in Vietnam, make sure you do so before your visa expires. The completion of a visa extension may take up to a week to complete. You can apply for an extension or renewal at the Vietnam Immigration Department Office. You can extend your stay in Vietnam by either extending your visa or renewing it, but what is the difference between a visa extension and renewal? Scroll below to find out.

An extension is basically increasing the duration of your stay beyond the intended number of days without having to exit the country and reapply for a visa. This is a good option as it is cheaper and more convenient than the renewal process.The only criteria to follow is that the duration of the extension has to be at least as long as your current visa. For example, you can get an extension for a month if you have a visa for one month (single or multiple entry) or three months (single or multiple entry). However, to request a three-month renewal, your current visa should have the validity of three months (single or multiple).

• This type of visa allows you a new visa stamp and sticker on your passport granting a new duration of your stay. On a renewed visa, your length of stay is for 3 months. Please note, that the cost of visa renewal is slightly higher than the cost of visa extension.
