From north to south, this journey of reaping new joy includes Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Pongal and Uttarayan, through unique celebrations at various airports throughout India.
We are all set to celebrate these festivals with glee at the airports, by dressing up in traditional clothing, participating in folk dances to live music, such as Punjab’s famous bhangra for Lohri and the traditional kummi from Tamil Nadu for Pongal. In addition to this, the boarding gate announcements will include wishes for everyone at the airport in regional languages – such as for “Mattu Pongal” – further uniting people in the spirit of the season and our varied cultural celebrations.
