The Athens International Airport is located at a distance of 30 km from Athens. It ranks as the 19th busiest airport in Europe. The airport got its name after Greece’s Prime Minister, Eleftherios Venizelos. Athens International Airport is responsible for the management of the airport. 2. Rhodes Diagoras International Airport

The Rhodes Diagoras International Airport is located about 14 km from Rhodos. It is the fourth busiest airport in Greece and was built only in 1977. Earlier, it was the Rhodes Maritsa Airport that served the Rhodes region of Greece. 

The airport has two terminals and is equipped with facilities like VIP lounges, medical centres, taxi centres, etc. Some of the places to visit in Rhodes are The Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, The Roloi Clock Tower, The Byzantine Art Museum and The Street of Knights.

3. Heraklion International Airport

The Heraklion International Airport ranked the second busiest airport in Greece after the Athens International Airport. It is a military cum commercial airport that serves the Heraklion region and is located at a distance of 5 km from the downtown of Heraklion. 

The airport is named after a famous Greek thinker, Nikos Kazantzakis. The airport after its inception in 1939 operated only a limited number of flights. Gradually, the airport got equipped with facilities to handle a large number of passengers. The airport will soon be replaced by the Kasteli International Airport.

4. Mykonos Airport
