Delhi International Airport (DEL) or Indira Gandhi International Airport

The Delhi IGI Airport is located in Palam, Delhi, which is 15 km southwest of the New Delhi Railway Station and around 16 km from the centre of New Delhi. It is easily accessible from all sections of the capital via the different modes of transport.

The Delhi IGI Airport is a significant destination for IndiGo, along with a few others. We operate more than150 flights between Delhi and other key locations in India and abroad. The 3 terminals, Terminal 1, 2, and 3, are separately located and connected via cab/shuttle bus.

Terminal 1(C-D)

This terminal is exclusively for budgeted domestic airlines, including IndiGo. There used to be two separate buildings, but now there is Terminal 1D which has expanded halls and a capacity of holding 30 million passengers and staff.

Terminal 2

Recently revamped Terminal 2 of Indira Gandhi international airport is home to the low-cost carriers, including IndiGo. IndiGo operates about one-third of its domestic flights from this terminal. The terminal has many key features to provide a hassle-free experience to flyers, including adequate check-in counters, X-ray machines, baggage reclaim belts, and aerobridges.

All flights numbered from 6E 2000 to 6E 2999 will depart from and arrive at Terminal 2. Shuttle services are available connecting the international and domestic terminals. And for passengers from Terminal 1 concourses, complimentary golf cart services are available.

Terminal 3

Terminal 3 is the terminal that handles all international flights and some domestic flights. It is a two tier building, spread over 20 acres with separate floors for arrival and departure. The airport has 168 check-in counters, 78 aerobridges at 48 contact stands, 95 immigration counters, and 15 X-ray screening areas.

T2- T3

Travel time – 5 min

• Take the exit on the right side from T2 arrivals
• Signages show the pathway that goes directly to T3
• Cross the tunnel which leads to T3
• Near pillar 09-10 (next to the visitor entry ticket counter), take a lift to the 2nd floor to the T3 departure area.

T3- T2

Travel time – 5 mins

• Exit from arrivals (If arriving from an international flight please collect your checked-in bags and hand them over to our staff at terminal 2)
• Walk on the left side (towards pillar 18)
• Signages show the pathway that goes directly to T2
• Cross the road which is under the covered passage
• Cross the tunnel which leads to T2
• Take a lift to 1st floor to the T2 departure area

Important points -

• Passengers can take the baggage carts between T2 and T3
• Both the terminals are adjacent to each other. They are within walking distance and can be accessed through a clearly marked path
• Buggy services are also available to assist PRM/passenger with infant and old age passengers on a FOC basis by the airport operator

T1- T3

This requires the passenger to commute through the National Highway 8, so one must avail of the free shuttle or cab. Estimated time: 45 min.  

Waiting at the Airport can be tiring and boring, but you will be neither at the Delhi Airport. The IGI Airport offers you a plethora of activities to keep you busy and entertained during your time at the airport.

When you are sitting in the airport waiting for your flight or during a Layover and have time in hand, you must visit the City of Culture and see places around the Airport. But be sure to come back on time so that you don't miss your flight!

India Air Force Museum

The Indian Air Force Museum, located near IGI airport in New Delhi, features many airplanes that have played an essential part in the nation's defense. The museum features a comprehensive collection of images, weaponry, artifacts, and tributes that tell the story of the Indian Air Force.

Qutub Minar

One of the most famous monuments in Delhi is the Qutub Minar. The Minar is built in the Indo-Islamic architectural style, and if you want to see it up close, you must purchase access tickets. It is open every day.

Hauz Khas Fort

Apart from the significant fort ruins, it's an excellent site to kill time near Delhi Airport, with a glistening lake, royal water tank, Islamic Madrasa, and various pavilions. People come to see the majesty of this old monument and the sunset vistas, lush surroundings, and beautiful fort.
