Noida Jewar Airport, also officially known as Noida International Airport (DXN), is amongst the most ambitious upcoming greenfield aviation projects in India. It is situated in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. The airport is part of a larger government initiative to decongest Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi while strengthening air connectivity to other parts of the NCR regions. In addition to that, through different airports in Uttar Pradesh, travellers can easily connect to places like Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Lucknow, to name a few.
The airport is being developed through a Public–Private Partnership with Yamuna International Airport Pvt. Ltd. It focuses on sustainable design and modern infrastructure to offer an efficient travel experience.
The airport is spread over 5,000 hectares and aims to be one of the biggest in the country once fully operational. Phase 1 is planned to handle up to 12 million passengers a year, while further developments are proposed in subsequent phases, reaching up to 60 million passengers.
