All of the rooms in the palace are elegant and beautifully furnished with Persian carpets and rare antique items from various countries. It also houses the Chitrangada Raje Art Gallery, a library with more than 5,000 books, the original shield of Rani Laxmibai, and swords of Mughal rulers.
- Tighra Dam: Present on the River Sank, Tighra Dam was built in 1916 and serves as a great picnic spot. It offers breathtaking views of the river and its surrounding area. Going on different boat rides, such as Jalpari boating, paddle boating, speed boating, and even water scooter rides, can be some of the best things to do.
- Sun temple: Also known as Surya Mandir, Sun Temple is one of the most prominent shrines and an architectural marvel in Gwalior. This magnificent temple was built in 1988 and is dedicated to the Sun God. The temple is made of marble and red sandstone, giving it a distinct and beautiful appearance. Gwalior Airport is also called Rajamata Vijay Raje Scindia Airport, which is the principal airport serving the city of Gwalior. It is a civil enclave located within the Maharajpur Air Force station. The airport has a single terminal that handles domestic flights from major cities of the country. Several restaurants and cafes can be found here selling snacks, foods and beverages.
