It is the place of one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and is also one of the Shakti Peethas in India. The complex houses as many as 22 temples, with the Baba Mandir at the centre. This airport is situated at a distance of around 9 km from the city’s centre, in Katia Village. It is spread over an area of over 654 acres and its runway is 2,500 metre long. Moreover, the airport terminal building mimics the aesthetics of the Baba Baidyanath Temple and has local tribal art on display.
