Top tourist attractions in Deoghar
- Tapovan Hills and Caves:The Tapo Nath Mahadev Temple and cracked rock, which is said to contain a picture of Lord Hanuman, are two famous points in this area. This is especially amazing because trying to paint something inside the crack with a paintbrush would be nearly impossible. It is claimed that Goddess Sita used to take baths in the little kund (water body) that is located beneath the hill. As a result, ‘Sukta Kund’ or ‘Sita Kund’ are the names given to it by the locals.
- Naulakha Temple: The Naulakha Temple in Deoghar is devoted to Goddess Radha and Lord Krishna. Its structure is quite similar to the Belur Ramakrishna Temple in West Bengal. Beautiful deity idols that are 146-feet tall can be found in the temple. Queen Charushila of Pathuria Ghat, donated nine lakh rupees for the establishment of Naulakha Mandir, which is how the temple got its name ('nau' means nine and 'lakha' means lakh).
- Nandan Pahar: Nandan Pahar is seldom ever overlooked by pilgrims. It is dotted with numerous more temples, most of which contain exquisite statues of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Kartik. According to tradition, the doorkeeper, Nandi (Lord Shiva's bull mount), once stopped Ravana from violently entering Shivadham. The hill is known by the name Nandi because Ravana flung Nandi down here in a fit of rage. The peak also provides amazing views of the dawn and sunset and lovely panoramas of the town. A recreation area with swimming pools, sports fields, and boating facilities is also present.
- Basukinath Temple: The Basukinath Temple is one of the region's oldest temples and is said to be Baba Bhole Nath's (Lord Shiva’s) court. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati temples have been constructed here and are facing one another. According to beliefs, at the time of the opening of the gates, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are said to meet. Hence devotees are advised to move away from the gates during this time. The Basukinath Temple is situated close to Jarmundi hamlet. The best time to visit this temple is during the Shravana festival (a month in the Hindu calendar).
- Dev Sangha Ashram: Dev Sangha Ashram, sometimes called the Nav Durga Mandir, is a shrine that honours all nine forms of Goddess Durga's incarnations. Other gods, including Lord Shiva, Goddess Saraswati, Annapurna, etc. are also housed at the temple.
