- Mozart's Birthplace: The world-famous music composer, W.A. Mozart, was born in 'Hagenauer House' in Salzburg in 1756. Today, it has become the most famous museum in Austria. He spent his childhood and youth with his parents and sister in this house. The Mozart family lived here up to 1747, then they moved to the house known as the 'Mozart Residence' at present. The museum conducts one-hour guided tours for the visitors. There is a collection of several artefacts and furniture related to Mozart's life. One can see the original certificates, documents, and letters from him. Also, there are portraits depicting different incidents and works of Mozart to give a wonderful experience to his fans. Most significantly, visitors can see the original musical instruments like the violin and clavichord of this ingenious personality within this museum.
- Hohensalzburg Fortress: The Hohensalzburg Fortress was built in 1077 to protect the archbishops and the Salzburg kingdom. This fortress consists of several museums. The Fortress Museum conducts exhibitions on the courtly lifestyle of the prince archbishops. Also, there is the Museum of the Rainer Regiment and the Marionette Museum within the fortress. The famous armoury house consists of several weapons and armour. The third floor of this fort includes several chambers and halls, such as the prince's chambers, Golden Chamber, Prince's Hall, and Golden Hall. Moreover, one can experience the most beautiful view of the city through the panorama tour. Another interesting fact is that this fort is renowned for its Salzburg Fortress Concerts or Salzburger Festungskonzerte.
- Museum of Natural History and Technology: The Museum of Natural History and Technology or Haus der Nature consists of two buildings that show different exhibitions. The main building houses the Zoological Department and the Natural History Department. From the Science Centre, one can gain hands-on experience in technologies, such as electricity generation with a turbine and floating in space through a hydraulic platform. This museum conducts exhibitions based upon different environmental facts, such as evolution, man and diversity, the animal kingdom on Earth, our universe, the world of the ocean, and the journey into the human body.
- Mirabell Palace: The Mirabell Palace was built by Prince-Archbishop for his Salome Alt. 'Mirabell', who was a woman from Italy. The word 'Mirabile' means 'admirable', and 'bell' means 'beautiful'. The Marble Hall of this palace was the banquet hall of the prince. It was known as the most beautiful wedding hall in the world. Also, the great musician Mozart and his children performed music in this hall. The Mirabell Hall is also renowned as the venue of the SchlossKonzerte Mirabell concerts. The 'Angel Staircase' of this hall has been designed with cherubs. At present, this palace hosts municipal offices and the seat of the Mayor of Salzburg. Again, the Mirabell Garden includes the Palace Chapel, Dwarf Garden, Pegasus Fountain, Rose Garden, Edge Theater, and Orangery.
- Salzburg Cathedral: The Salzburg Cathedral is one of the holy places of the city of Salzburg. It has an impressive architecture with a dome and two towers. It was built in the early Baroque style design, and Munsterberg Marble created the facade of the cathedral. Also, there are four statues within that cathedral, such as Salzburg's two patron saints - Rupert and Virgil, Apostles Peter and Paul, with a key and a sword, a model of this church, and a salt vessel. There are two escutcheons at the top of the gable. They commemorate the constructors of the cathedral - Paris Lodron and Markus Sittikus. Visitors can see the statue of the Virgin Mary. Other attractions of this church are the bronze baptismal font with the lions in the base and the seven bells. The three gates symbolise - Love, Faith, and Hope.
