What is Jaipur best known for?
Jaipur, the pink city of Rajasthan, is a city well-known for its heritage, architecture, forts, culture and delicious Rajasthani food. There are a series of beautiful palaces where the family of rulers lived and used to take refuge. It is called the Pink City as pink stones are mostly used in the construction of the walled city. Jaipur is famous for tie and dye clothing, embroidered leather shoes, blue clay, tie and dye scarves and other traditional items. The planning of the construction of Jaipur may have been ancient, but its construction was modern.
It incorporated all the elements of Rajput and Mughal architecture well-represented by the City Palace complex, forming a new culture that gained considerable revenue in much of northern India. As in the Mughal tradition, durbar areas or courts were wide open, visible through a series of panels bound with artfully crafted pillars. Jaipur is an amazing place to visit for seeing the rich Rajasthani and Indian culture, the colourful attire and enjoying the famous Rajasthani cuisines.
