About Durgapur Airport
Officially known as Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport (IATA - RDP), Durgapur airport is located in Andal Paschim Bardhaman which is named after the famous Bengali poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. It is the first private aerotropolis in India that is developed by Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited and is the 3rd busiest airport in West Bengal.
The airport has the capacity of catering upto 1 million passengers annually and the plan is to expand the capacity upto 2.5 million passengers annually. The airport connects several major cities of India to Durgapur such as Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
