The ancient and sacred city of Gaya located on the embankment of the Falgu River is one of the popular tourist destinations in India. The best time to visit Gaya is between October and March. This is because the weather during this period remains comfortable and apt for sightseeing. However, many tourists flock the destination during April and May to take part in the Buddha Purnima festival.

Summers, lasting from March to June, are hot with temperatures rising to 45 degree Celsius. In winter (December to February), the temperature may drop below 10 degree Celsius after sunset. The city enjoys adequate rainfall in monsoon, between July and September.
