Shirdi, also known as Sainagar, is a small town in the state of Maharashtra with a land area of 13 sq. km. It is situated towards the east of the Arabian Seashore. This is the city of pilgrimage for devout worshippers of Sai Baba.
Sai Baba, an Indian spiritual leader, lived here in the city and spread his teachings to people far and wide. In memory of him, people erected an ornate marble statue near his tomb called the Samadhi Mandir.
