The temple also stands out for being a spiritual epicentre in the city.
- Ghats in Varanasi: Among numerous ghats in Varanasi, Dasashwamedh, Manikarnika, Assi, Harishchandra, and Raj Ghat are the five main riverbanks frequently explored by visitors. Each of these ghats has its own story and purpose, but all signify the cultural heritage of the city with their unique architectural styles.
- Chaukhandi Stupa: Located about 8 km from Varanasi Cantt Railway Station, on the way towards Sarnath from Varanasi, Chaukhandi Stupa is an octagonal tower representing the remains of Gautam Buddha. The architecture of this Buddhist monument dates back to the Gupta period. The height of the monument is about 84 feet from the ground.
- Ramnagar Fort: This sandstone structure by the bank of River Ganga is built in Rajputana style of architecture. The fort, also the former residence of King Anant Narayan Singh, offers a mesmerising view of the city. There is a museum inside the fort boasting a rich collection of royal costumes, weaponry, vintage cars, and other elements.
- Aurangzeb’s Mosque: This mosque is situated near the Panchganga Ghat of Varanasi. The other famous names of this mosque are Alamgir Mosque and Beni Madha Ka Darera. It was built by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the 17th century. It is constructed with three domes and two minarets.
