Commonly known as Trivandrum, it is the most populous and capital city of Kerala, India. It is located on the west coast and caters to the information technology industry. In the past, the city was under the rule of many kings, and therefore, it possesses a rich cultural history. The place got its name from the Tamil word thiru-anantha-puram, which means ‘The City of Lord Ananta’.
It is built on seven hills and lies beside the shores of the Killi and Karamana rivers. It is renowned in Southern India for its liberal customs, arts, and architecture. It even conducts annual literature festivals.
