Places to visit in Paris
- Montmartre: Montmartre was constructed in 1919 on a hill that is 130 m high. The idea behind its construction was to honour the French people who sacrificed their lives for the country during the Franco-Prussian War in 1870. At the top of the hill is the famous white-domed Basilica of the Sacred Heart which clearly distinguishes Montmartre. It also houses the Salvador Dali Museum within its premises that has on display sculptures and paintings by the painter.
- The Eiffel Tower: When one thinks of the most excellent spots in Paris, the Eiffel Tower is probably the first thing that comes to mind. The tower is 1063 feet tall and has three levels that are accessible to visitors and is a popular spot to click pictures. Designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel, the structure that is made of wrought iron also bears his name. One of the most notable tourist attractions not just in Paris but all of Europe, the magnificence of the Eiffel Tower is truly a sight to behold.
- Disneyland Paris: Disneyland Paris is an amusement park and is a fun place to visit for both children and adults. - Notre Dame Cathedral: Popular for its revolutionary design, the Notre Dame is a famous Gothic structure that was established in the year 1163. The cathedral dates back to the Middle Ages and is open to visitors who gleefully climb its 387 steps up to the top. Featuring a unique architectural design, the structure is flanked by towers, spires and flying buttresses making it both novel and fascinating.
- Champs Elysees: Champs Elysees is a famous avenue in Paris that is located between Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe. Some of the biggest luxury brands have stores on these streets offering an unforgettable outing and is truly a shopper’s paradise. Paris Airport
Paris has two international airports - Charles de Gaulle Airport and Orly Airport. IndiGo operates flights to Paris from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), also known as Paris Airport or Roissy Airport. Opened in 1974, the airport is named after the famous statesman Charles de Gaulle and it is the most important international airport serving Paris. Located in Roissy-en-France, the airport is located at a distance of about 23 km northeast of Paris. The airport offers several passenger facilities such as a pharmacy, health centre, and prayer room. It is widely connected to major roads, and private cabs can be availed right outside the airport to take you to the city.
