- Bhimbetka Caves : Bhimbetka, a World Heritage site, located roughly 46 km from Bhopal displays the city's long history. The Bhimbetka caves were unintentionally found in 1957 and 1958 by archaeologist Dr. Vishnu Wakankar. The cave rock drawings date back more than 15,000 years, making them a true treasure. They portray the way of life of a man living in the past.
- National Museum of Mankind : The National Museum of Mankind, also known as the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, was founded in 1985. The Shyamala Hills form the backdrop of the 200-acre museum. The Anthropological Museum provides information on human evolution. Another name for it is Tribal Habitat Museum. Learning about the numerous tribal cultures that are present all around the nation is quite intriguing.
- State Museum of Madhya Pradesh : The National Museum of Mankind and the State Museum of Madhya Pradesh are located in the same compound. One of the best-designed museums in the nation, the museum is built in a contemporary style. A fascinating collection of coins, sculptures, fossils, and manuscripts that depict India's history and present is showcased in the 16 subject galleries.
- Upper Lake : The largest lake in the state is said to be Upper Lake, which dates back to the eleventh century. It is believed that the lake's water has healing properties and can treat skin ailments. The lake is at the centre of the city. There is a little island in the middle of the artificial lake. You may cruise in rowing boats, paddle boats, and speed boats thanks to the boat club. You must be here at sunset to experience the breathtaking scenery.
- Van Vihar National Park : Van Vihar National Park is a 445.21-hectare tract of land in the centre of the city that is home to many different species of birds and animals. Tiger, lion, leopard, sambar, and chital are a few of the wild species that may be found in this area.
Bhopal Airport
The international airport handling Bhopal is Raja Bhoj Airport (BHO). This airport is Madhya Pradesh's second busiest airport in terms of tourist and aviation traffic. It is situated in Gandhi Nagar, 15 km (9.3 miles) from Bhopal Junction railway station in the heart of the city and 20 km (12 miles) from Habibganj railway station in the city's southern region. The airport has a child care room on the first level, ATMs, shopping areas and good places to grab a quick bite or a full meal.
