Hyderabad is served by two international airports - Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and Begumpet Airport.
- Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD): Located about 24 km from the city centre, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) is the primary international gateway to Hyderabad. It's named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. This airport is renowned for its modern infrastructure, excellent services, and efficient operations. The airport offers a wide range of domestic and international flights, connecting Hyderabad to major cities in India and destinations across the globe. The airport has numerous amenities, including shopping outlets, restaurants serving diverse cuisines, lounges for relaxation, and duty-free shopping for flights to Paris. It has only one terminal for both domestic and international flights.
- Begumpet Airport (BPM): Begumpet Airport (BPM), also known as Hyderabad Old Airport, primarily handles general aviation and charter flights. It is situated closer to the city centre (5.9 km), making it accessible for smaller aircraft and private charters. The airport consisted of two terminals. Domestic Terminal handles domestic flights to various destinations within India. It has facilities for passenger check-in, security checks, baggage claims, and other essential services for domestic travellers. International Terminal facilitates international flights to and from Hyderabad, including flights to Paris. It provided customs and immigration facilities for international passengers.
