- Hero’s Square: The most attractive feature of the Hero's Square is the Gabriel Archangel's Column. This column is also known as the Millennium Monument because it was constructed for the 1896 Millennium celebrations. The celebration was held to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of Hungary for its ancestors' settlement in the Carpathian Basin. On the top of this column, there is the statue of Archangel Gabriel holding St. Stephen's Crown. The monument won the first prize in the World Exhibition of 1900 in Paris. Apart from the monument, the Hero's Square consists of 14 statues of kings and heroes. Visitors can also see the Hungarian War Memorial in front of the column.
- Hungarian National Gallery: The Hungarian National Gallery is installed within Buda Castle. It has an amazing preservation of Hungarian artworks as well as international artworks. The paintings of the 18th and 19th centuries depict the history of the Hungarian nation. Hungarian National Gallery also organises permanent exhibitions on the development and chronicle of Hungarian arts, stone carvings from the Medieval and Renaissance age, wood carvings, fragments of the Gothic period, and winged altarpieces. There is a separate room that shows the works of the celebrity artist Mihaly Munkacsy.
- Hungarian National Museum: The National Museum building is decorated with Hungarian classical-style architecture. The building looks like a Roman temple because of its gorgeous, sculpted pediment and columns. The interior of this museum is erected with marble pillars. The walls and the ceilings of the museum are covered with beautiful paintings. This museum houses numerous archaeological objects and historical treasures of Hungary. Some of the attractive artefacts of this museum are – the statue of a golden deer from the 6th century BC, the coronation cloak used by the Hungarian kings, and the crown from the 13th century.
- Budapest Opera House: The Opera House or the Magyar Allami Operahaz is located in the city centre of Budapest and designed with Neo-Renaissance style architecture. The Opera House features several sculptures, frescos, and artworks by local artists such as Karloy Lotz and Bertalan Szekely. The reception hall exhibits the works of Arpad Feszty. There are the statues of Ference Erkel, the composer of the National Anthem of Hungary, and another Hungarian composer, Franz Liszt, at the entrance of the opera. - Budapest History Museum: The Budapest History Museum, or the Castle Museum, is housed in the Buda Castle. It has four floors – the basement, ground, first, and second floor. The museum preserves the elements of the Hungarian lifestyle, archaeology, and history and recreates traditional rooms and living spaces with Hungarian culture. The chapel and the Gothic Hall are the most attractive rooms within the museum. Some of the attractive features of this museum are the Hungarian-Anjou silk carpet, marble carvings of King Matthias’ Palace, and Gothic sculptures. It organises several permanent and temporary exhibitions on history and art.
