Airport in Doha
Hamad International Airport is the only international airport in Qatar. It is the successor of the former Doha International Airport. It was scheduled to open in 2009 as New Doha International Airport. But, because of a series of delays, it finally came into operation in 2014 as Hamad International Airport. It is named after the former Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
