Also known as the pearl city, Hyderabad is the capital of Telangana and the perfect blend of rich history and modernity. It is also famously known as the place of nawabs as it was ruled by Qutub Shahis, Mughals and Nizams. Places to visit in Hyderabad
- Charminar: Located in the heart of Hyderabad, Charminar is the prominent landmark which was built in 1591 by Quli Qutub Shah. It also signifies the founding of the city and consists of four minarets completely built using limestone and granite. This stunning piece of architecture has a mosque along with 45 prayer spaces and has been added into the tentative list UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It looks gorgeous in the evening when it is illuminated with the lights.
- Birla Mandir: Built on the top of Kala pahad, Birla Mandir is a lovely modern temple widely famous for its pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. This temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara of Tirumala. It is completely built by using 2000 tonnes of white marbles, which gives this temple a majestic and beautiful appearance. As the temple is located on the top of the hill, it offers the lovely views of the city as well as nearby Hussain Sagar Lake.
- Golconda Fort: Overlooking the city, Golconda is a historical fort built by Qutub Shahi Kings and has seen the reign of several dynasties. This fort is magnificently built, and it is said that clapping your hands at the bottom of the fort echoes all the way up to the top. This spectacular fort is well-known for its royal apartments, parade grounds, multiple halls, and mosques. It also hosts the famous sound and light show which is organised in the Rani Mahal section of the fort.
- Ramoji Film City: It is a huge film city spread over 2500 acres and was built by Ramoji group in 1991. It has been designated as the World's largest film studio complex by the Guinness Book of World Records. It is a great place for cinema lovers as it consists of several shooting locations such as London Street, Hollywood signage, Japanese gardens, airport, hospital, landscapes and buildings.
- Laad Bazaar: Located close to Charminar, Laad Bazaar is one of the famous and oldest markets in Hyderabad that is known for selling some beautiful bangles. Name of the market Laad comes from the word lacquer, which is used in making bangles. Shops can be found selling a variety of items such as cosmetics, handbags, dresses and decorative items. It is a fantastic location for people who love shopping and are looking for high-quality things at cheap prices.
- Cafe Bahar: Cafe Bahar is one of the best restaurants in the city to taste authentic Hyderabadi flavours. This place is known for serving some mouth watering dishes such as mutton biryani, Hyderabadi dum biryani, mutton tikka masala and butter chicken. Since the restaurant is known for serving authentic Hyderabadi biryani, it is also a great destination for biryani lovers. About Hyderabad Airport
Officially known as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (IATA - HYD), it is located in Shamshabad which is 24 kms south of Hyderabad. This airport replaced the old Begumpet Airport and commercial flight operations began on 23 March 2008. It is owned and operated by a public-private partnership GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL). It is the sixth busiest airport in India by passenger traffic and has a capacity to handle up to 10 million passengers annually. To ensure passengers have a comfortable journey, the airport is equipped with facilities such as currency exchange, free medical facilities, childcare rooms, wheelchair and prayer rooms.
